Default Offerless 9-back Scarlett

Looks like Kirk B. was wrong about the offerless 9-back Scarlett:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=270348581231

Ending price was $765--the card had a torn hanger tab, the bubble was very yellowed, and the card had wear. If this is out there, then more are out there.

(BTW, I thought that my $600 snipe was more than enough, especially considering the condition. Oh well.)

Are you happy or sad that this exists? Did this one end so high because it is offerless? I would have thought that it would have sold aroung $150.

I'm happy that it exists, but incredibly sad that I didn't bid high enough. According to Dan, the product manager for Hasbro said that this particular Scarlett (offerless 9-back) doesn't exist. Add to this the offerless Scarlett's don't appear at all and the end price, therefore, reflects these cir***stances.

AFA has 3 or so listed in their databases, but all are incorrectly labeled. (One person has verified that his 11-back was labeled a 9-back.)

Aaahhhh! Since I was deploying about this time I totally missed this thread. Did anyone manage to get a pic or save the image? Do you remember the seller so I can contact them?

I have to say I am not that suprised about Kirk being wrong because after all who can remember every little detail about their job or even thier life in general after 25 or more years? I know I can't.

Due to the extremely rare nature of this figure I will bet that Kirk was right in that they delayed the figure as long as possible but apparently the figures were still available on the 9-back offerless cards later. This is my guess due to the rarity of the piece. Another possibility is this was released in more limited numbers than the others because they didn't expect it to sell as much since Scarlett is a female. On page 20 of this magazine Kirk talks about the females (particularly Scarlett) not selling well:

Also, on page 21 in the first paragraph Kirk mentions the females are always weighed less in an assortment than the male figures.

Sorry, I didn't save a picture nor do I remember the seller (from HI). It wasn't different except for the missing CC offer. There is one offerless 9-back AFA 85 (85,85,85) out there. The asking price, if there is one, is more than its weight in gold.

I have saved pics from the eBay auction of the offerless 9-back Scarlett. Final price was $765.

Enjoy!

I recently won the cardback so I will eventually add this to the archives. Pretty cool to have something in my hands that I didn't believe existed for so long!
